2 Tawarikh 5:10

5:10 There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets Moses had placed there in Horeb. ¹  (It was there that ²  the Lord made an agreement with the Israelites after he brought them out of the land of Egypt.)

2 Tawarikh 32:5

32:5 Hezekiah ³  energetically rebuilt ⁴  every broken wall. He erected towers and an outer wall, ⁵  and fortified the terrace of the City of David. ⁶  He made many weapons and shields.

[5:10]  ¹ sn Horeb is another name for Mount Sinai (cf. Exod 3:1).

[5:10]  ² tn Heb “in Horeb where.”

[32:5]  ³ tn Heb “he”; the referent (Hezekiah) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

[32:5]  ⁴ tn Heb “strengthened himself and built.”

[32:5]  ⁵ tn Heb “and outside the wall another one.”

[32:5]  ⁶ sn The phrase the City of David refers here to the fortress of Zion in Jerusalem, not to Bethlehem. See 2 Sam 5:7.
